Trash Truck

My son knows the sound of the trash truck.

We were playing this morning, before I had to leave for work, when out of nowhere my son says “trash truck.”

He was right. The trash truck was approaching our house, so we both went to the window and watched.

While we stood there, I was amazed that he had noticed the sound of the truck approaching. It wasn’t that loud and was still a few houses away. But he had noticed it.

Last week he noticed a movie poster for Dolphin Tale 2, from across a parking lot. He actually called the dolphin a whale, but close enough. Right idea.

He notices a lot of things. Each day I’m amazed. For him, the world is exciting, new, and full of adventure. And, he loves to soak in every detail. I hope he never looses that.

And, I hope it rubs off on me.
