If you use Gmail and Google Calendar like me you may be excited about a "new" service Google has added to their line of services. Well, it's not exactly new, but the functionality that was just added makes it far more useful than it has ever been. That makes it new in my eyes.
For a while Google's had a service called Tasks. It's a simple task manager program with no major bells or whistles. You could access it through Gmail or it's stand-alone site. It worked alright and served most of my task managing needs, but I had one major complaint. It didn't integrate with Google Calendar.
All of that has changed now. Tasks is now part of Google Calendar and it's infinitely more useful. Now, if you assign due dates you can see your tasks as appointments on your calendar. It's great.
The task list physically appears to the right of your calender after you press the "tasks" link on the upper-left-hand portion of your calendar. If you use Google Calendar, I encourage you to check it out. If you don't use the Google line of services… what's wrong with you?
