New Bond Theme from White and Keys

In music news, the new James Bond theme has been released and is all over the web. This time around Jack White, of White Stripes and Raconteurs fame, and Alicia Keys have teamed up to take their crack at the movie theme which has been performed in the past by musicians such as Paul McCartney, Madonna, Chris Cornell, Gladys Knight, Nancy Sinatra, and Tom Jones to name a few.

Their collaboration comes of pretty well, but ends up sounding pretty much as you would expect a Bond theme to sound. You can almost picture the signature title sequences playing while you listen, which is probably both good and bad: good because it doesn’t stand out, and bad for the same reason.

It’s an enjoyable piece of music, but I don’t think it’ll win any awards or be a number one hit on the charts.
