Music for the First Time

So, I've been thinking (a dangerous pastime, I know). If you grew up without music in any form, how would you react the first time you heard it? Additionally, what type of music would be the most pleasing to you as you were experiencing it for the first time?
Without research of any sort to back my opinion, my hypothesis is that initially it would all sound like noise and be quite frightening.  Following that initial shock, I think classical music would be the most pleasing to such a persons ears.  Interestingly enough, I say this not being a huge fan of classical music.  I fancy myself more of a rock guy.
With that said, what do you think?  What's your opinion? What would be the most appealing music to the ears of someone who has never here music before?
