Well, I’m slow in reporting this, but on Memorial Day the wife and I took a little trip to Target and picked up a Wii. We had been talking about it for a while and decided that morning that it was time to give in to temptation. The package we purchased contained the Wii, Wii Sports, and one controller. We also purchased Wii Play, which is a great deal because it comes with an additional controller.

So far I have been really impressed with the Wii. While it doesn’t boast a Blueray player, an HD picture or the graphics of PS3 or Xbox360, it’s still a competitive system. With its innovative controls, Internet functionality, and competitive price tag it is, in fact, quite impressive. Perhaps what sold me on the Wii was the ability to download the Nintendo games of yesteryear. The wife and I, after a week or Wii Sports, downloaded Dr. Mario, which is one of her favorites. I have to say it’s been a lot of fun battling against each other, and playing cooperatively. She even plays against people all over the world through WiiConnect24; we have our Wii connected to our wireless Internet. If you can’t tell I’m really impressed.

If you don’t already have a Wii you need to get one. If you do have one, hit me up, I’d like to get your Wii digits and be your Wii friend.

  1. I don’t remember Dr. Mario, but we are fans of Mario Kart – with the steering wheel and all. You should check it out.
