A Weird Night

Tonight was really weird.  The teacher of our Wednesday night Bible study called in sick, and there was general confusion regarding that, which lead to no one being prepared and in-turn to a visitor giving a talk on the passage below.

1 Corinthians 9:22-23
To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. 23I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.

It could have ended up being pretty bad, but I have to give our visitor credit because he has got me thinking about this passage.  It seems as though this could justify quite a bit in the sake of ministry.  Does this give us a license to go to the extreme? What are your thoughts?

  1. That guy is like my twin or something. And to answer your first question, I don’t really have anything in mind. I had just never thought about having the freedom to be who people need you to be so that they may come to Christ. It really puts the emphasis on us and drives home the point that people wont just come to us. We need to work to reach them.
