Last night the wife and I went to an event in Downtown Burbank benefiting the local YMCA. The event was called A Taste of Downtown Burbank and it featured a large assortment of Burbank eateries passing out samples of their finest cuisine. It was a ton of fun and we definitely plan to attend next year. I was a little worried that the quality and quantity of food wouldn't justify the $30 entrance fee but I was definitely proven wrong. I practically had to be wheeled out of there in a wheelbarrow. The Burbank restaurants pulled out all the stops and provided some great dishes. Fudruckers passed out whole hamburgers and fries, Picanha had sausage and cheese rolls, Portos had several full sized deserts from their bakery, Romancing the Bean passed out deserts and nice sized cups of coffee, and Chipotle blew me away with their carnitas concoction. It was an amazing evening of food. I can't wait until next year.
