A New Home

A couple weeks ago the wife and I moved into our new home with the help of some very good friends, and family.   It's a little two bed/one bath house owned by our church. So far we love it, and it's beginning to feel like home more and more each day. We've still got some unpacking and organizing to do, and there are countless utilities and such to contact but that's to be expected.   We actually have all of our utilities turned on now, except the gas.  We figured that it was summer and we could wait to have hot water.   Actually, what really happened is the gas guy came out and found leaks in the pipes so he turned it back off and told us to call a plumber.  The plumber is scheduled to come this week and fix the leak, but in the mean time we're going on our second week without hot water, or a stove.   It's really no big deal though.  My in-laws have graciously been allowing us to shower at their place, which is only a few blocks away.

This weekend we had ATT U-Verse installed. It was a rather lengthy process, which involved three different technicians over the course of 8 hours, but I have to say that the end result is quite impressive.  I have it hooked up using component video cables, and the picture quality is amazing considering I’m using a non-HD TV.  I’m really excited about all the new channels and the ability to record up to 4 programs at the same time.  Maybe this will be a good incentive to stay home a little more often now… that is, once the gas is working.
