More Random Ramblings

Rarely will I write about sports but I couldn't pass this up. You have to check out the Rocket Racing League .  It's almost too good to be true.

There's a bunch of exciting stuff going on at church.  So much so that I'm not even sure where to begin… there's a new website coming, a new logo in the works, a new minister, and a auditorium upgrade project. I'm sure I'm leaving a few things out, but it's been pretty crazy.  But, it's crazy in a good way.
I'm currently reading a book from Mark Yaconelli called "Growing Souls: Experiments in Contemplative Youth Ministry." It's really got me thinking about how we traditionally approach youth ministry.  It seems as though us Youth Ministers may be putting too much stock in events and crazy activities while never really getting to the spiritual stuff.  I'm only a chapter in so far, but I'm really enjoying this fresh look at ministry.
Only a few more days until the release of the new Rilo Kiley album, Under the Blacklight. I realize I'm a dork for being so excited, but I can't resist Jenny Lewis. I've got to get my fix. Is it Tuesday yet?
After much deliberation I picked up the Peter Bjorn and John album, Writers Block, this week. I have to say that I am really enjoying it.  Songs I recommend checking out are "Objects of My Affection," "Let's Call It Off," and "Poor Cow."
I'm sure this is old news by now, but I find it both hilarious and a little sad that, Amy Winehouse will probably be heading to rehab after she overdosed last week.  Perhaps she should have said Yes, Yes, Yes to rehab a while back.
Still packing.  We're hoping to be mostly out of our apartment by this Saturday.  We'll see how that goes.  We've got a long way to go.

  1. So, are Rocket Racers athletes? Discuss. (kidding) Glad to hear things are going well at church. Mark Y’s work had a big impact on me – I had a similar reaction. Happy packing!

  2. I find it quite funny that you are in the know about Amy Winehouse. Someone needs to give the girl a hamburger while she’s getting help. Good luck moving – anywhere fun or exciting?
