How exciting is this: Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck will reunite to perform as the Yardbirds this fall. That is one show I would definitely like to see. I hope they leave room in thier shows for some improv guitar stuff.
I just purchased Rocco Deluca and the Burden's "I Trust You to Kill Me" for $5.99 used. It's funny when you can tell what songs will be the singles just by listening to an album. When the production value goes way up and the pop drum beat kicks in it's definitely a single.
I'm still absorbing the White Stripes latest release, "Icky Thump." It has it moments, but so far I'm probably going to have to agree with all the reviews that say it's no "Elephant." Some of my current favorites on the album are "You Don't Know What Love Is, You Just Do As You're Told," "Prickly Thorn, but Sweetly Worn," and "Effect and Cause."
In the I'm sure you care category, Nada Surf's "This Weight is a Gift" has been receiving a resurgence of play in both my cd player and on my ipod. If you haven't checked this album out you should definitely do so. I love it.
And finally, I have a music related question for YOU. With the ever-rising popularity of places like itunes, where you can purchase single songs from an artist, will we see fewer and fewer full length album releases? What do you think?
