Community – Part 3

Ok, I must admit I’ve fallen down on my Community series goal of posting weekly questions regarding community. But, the class that I have been teaching hasn’t exactly gone as I’ve expected either. Each week we find new and creative ways to vear off topic. It’s been a little annoying to the guy with an agenda (me), but it probably doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things. What really matters is that we are gathering together as a group and discussing God’s Word.

With that said, we’ll try to pick back up this week. So, my question for you is…

Do you think God wants Christians to worship Him with other Christians? Why, or why not?

  1. Yes. Because you can’t worship God at all without being reconciled to one another, using the gifts given by the Spirit to build up the body of Christ, mutual submission/edification/service to the poor. Scripture says very little about worship as a transcendent experience or exercise of personal piety. And all this stuff makes its connection at the Lord’s table, where everyone the Lord invited shows up, whether we like it or not. (BTW, the great and terrible Oz gave you a better answer back at the home place). Blessings on veering with the gathered.
