Goosebumps and Amazing Technologies

Today as I was using Google Maps to plan a trip to San Francisco, I made a discovery that gave me goosebumps. You can see places like Antarctica, and Greenland. You can see the Louvre, and the Eiffel Tour, in addition the streets and buildings in your home town. I guess it wasn’t really a discovery because I’ve known about this possibility for a while now, but I guess it had never occurred to me to actually do it. So, as I sat at my computer looking at places that I will never get to see with my own eyes, and some that I have, I felt that feeling you get when you are both excited, and uncomfortable; where your stomach drops, and your entire body begins to tingle all over. It is somewhat reminiscent of the feeling I had while at the top of the Eiffel Tour during my whirlwind, 10-day tour of Europe in college, but obviously not quite as strong. It’s an interesting world we live in, when we have access to such amazing technologies. I can’t wait to see what’s next.

  1. Good to see you are alive. And no, I don’t stalk your blog… honest coincidence :). Have fun in SF! I’ve heard it’s pretty cool around there.
