Stupid Question Stupid Answer

A couple evenings ago, while at dinner with friends, I was asked if I wanted a to go container for some left over soup. Shocked, for some strange reason that they had to go containers for soup I asked “Do you have to go containers for soup” only to receive a look of disbelief as the waitress replied with “Yes, I wouldn’t have asked you if we didn’t have them.” It was then I realized how dumb my question had been and I told her that I would, in fact, like one. After she left the entire table burst into laughter, including me. It just goes to show, if you ask a stupid question you’ll get a stupid answer.
