First Day Back

The first day back at work after being out for several days is bound to be tough. There are numerous email and voicemessages to respond to, there are tasks that were left unfinnished, deadlines missed, and maybe even a meeting or two that you forgot to prepare for. To top it all off you probably would rather be anywhere but work. Either your still sick or you grew accustomed to being away from the office and don’t want to go back. All of those things can be expected. However, it’s not much fun when you walk in and the receptionist lectures you about letting them know when you’re going to be out (Hey, I would have, if I’d known I was going to get sick). It’s also not much fun when you get reemed with an email from the chair of your board of visitors for writting the minutes for the last meeting exactly as your boss instructed you to do within the first half hour of being back.

Oh, it’s going to be a fun day. I can’t wait to see what else happens.
