How You Doin’?

When someone asks how you are doing, how do you respond? Do you say “I’m doing good”? If so you’re on a list of people who bug me. I’m not usually a stickler for proper grammar, but that phrase, or misuse of the English language, bothers me. You aren’t “doing good” unless you’re out helping old ladies across the street, or giving money to the poor. If you’re talking about your state of being, you are doing well.

Ok, I’ll step down from my little soap box now and give you time to scan my blog for grammatical errors. I’m sure I make plenty, making me somewhat of a hypocrite, but let me quote Doc Holiday in my defense. “My hypocrisy only goes so far.”
