Thy Will Be Done

Epictetus said,

Dare to look up to God and say, “Make use of me for the future as Thou wilt. I am of the same mind; I am one with Thee. I refuse nothing which seems good to Thee. Lead me whither Thou wilt. Clothe me in whatever dress Thou wilt.”

It’s a dangerous thing to devote yourself fully to God’s will. I know I’m scared to death each time I say four little words, “thy will be done.” It’s hard for me to relinquish control of any aspect of my life to anyone because I’m such control-freak/perfectionist. I’d much rather do it all myself, but I know that I am incapable of anything without Him and so I’m compelled to utter those four little words, “thy will be done,” yet again.
