Free McDonalds?

I heard a rumor today that McDonalds will be offering free Southern Style Chicken Sandwiches tomorrow, May 15th.  I’m not sure if you have to purchase anything or if it’s only during certain hours, but you might check it out.  The Southern Style Chicken Sandwich is my newest McDonalds favorite.

Pennywise and Free Music

I received my email invitation to download the new Pennywise album, Reason to Believe, for free this morning.  For your free download invitation head on over to www.myspace.com/pennywise, but do it quick because I'm not sure how long this promotion will last.  I can't really attest to the quality of the album, as I have yet to listen to it, but it's free and it's Pennywise so… there you go.
 
I wonder how many other bands are going to be giving their music away for free?  Radiohead practically gave away In Rainbows, and Nine Inch Nails gave away a portion of their newest release, Ghosts.  Is this a trend that is going to hang on? What do you think?

Alfredo’s Granada

Not having enough time between work and the evening’s activities last night, the wife and I decided to try out Alfredo’s Granada in Burbank. We’ve driven past the place for years and we thought it was about time we stopped in. 

 

The place was pretty full when we arrived at 6:30 pm, but after a 20 minute wait we were sitting comfortably in a booth.  As it turned out, Monday and Tuesday nights they have a special where their combos (1-12) are buy one get one free. Being suckers for a good deal we decided to stick to the combos.  I had a combo with a beef taco and a chili relleno.  My wife had a beef taco and a cheese enchilada.  Both combos came with rice and beans and chips and salsa were served to us while we waited for our food.  The food itself was the homestyle type of mexican food, which is probably as unhealthy as it comes, but very tasty. 
 
I really enjoyed the beef taco and the chips and salsa.  The chili relleno was great too, but I’d say I was a bigger fan of the taco.  I’m not sure what my wife thought of her enchilada, but I think she enjoyed it.  The service was attentive but not overly obtrusive and the environment was dark and homey.  All in all, it was a pleasantly cheap and decently-fast experience.  Once we sat down in only took 40 minutes for us to order and eat.

 

If you’re in Burbank near Costco and looking for a good meal to stick to your bones I recommend Alfredo’s Granada.  It was great food, with great service.  And, on a Monday and Tuesday night you’ll get a great deal if you stick with their combos.
