Cool, good stuff, Brian! The Civil Wars are great! If you like them, I think you’d really like the Americana duo Sara Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irion. Their new album, Bright Examples, was good. Also, check out a group called Dawes. Both of their albums are spectacular, and their 2011 release is called Nothing Is Wrong.

I would recommend it if you have an iPhone 4. It seems to run a little smoother than the previous OS and you get some cool new features.

I’ve only noticed one adverse side effect and it’s only marginally annoying. The battery seems to drain a little faster. Not much, but a little. I would guess the new notification system is what causes the drain but that’s just a guess.

I you decide to upgrade be aware that it’ll take a while and you need to have everything backed up in iTunes, including the apps.

Now that you’ve played around with it, would you recommend the update? I updated my 3G with the new iOS and it was ruined, I’m scared the same thing will happen to my 4!

This is the free part of the service by the way.

Music Match is the service that costs 24.99. It will scan your library and look for the iTunes equivalent of your songs. I’m not sure if that would benefit you.

If you purchase music through iTunes on your computer you can have it automatically sync the same music to your iPod without connecting the two devices. And vice versa.

You will also have access to redownload purchased music on any device with iTunes.
